The Baking Chin Ep 7: “Green with Healthy — Avocado Bread!”

January 25th, 2012

Tasty and healthy avocado yeast bread! This bread makes great sandwich bread, french toast, bread pudding, etc. :3 It is kind of akin to Pain de mie, but healthier. Still very nice and rich! Also, thank you thank you thank you for over 100 subs! : ) RECIPE: 450g/3 cups Flour 200g/1 &1/2 Avocados (mashed) 15g/1tbsp Olive Oil 275g/1 cup + 1tbsp Milk 12g/2 tsp Salt 6g/1 1/2 tsp Instant Yeast 6g/1 tsp Honey Bake at 350°F/176°C for 45-50 minutes! TIP: When baking this bread the uncovered way, I pour about a 1 cup of boiling water into a metal tray that I have heated along with the oven when preheating. Also, this is a good time to use your stand mixer/kitchen aid! :D It makes the kneading process for this dough a lot easier. Happy Baking!~

OmikeyZ Home Made Baked Fruit Bread done in Bread Maker & Toasted

December 3rd, 2011

Well years later still making my own home made bread. I put some fruit in it now and toast it, i’ve also cut down the amount of oil. I find i eat quite a bit of it with my running but because it’s high fibre it fills you up quiet quickly. it is also nutritious. Take a look when you get 10 mins. Comments appreciated. My bread machine is quite old now and the bread is sticking sometimes to the bottom of the pan where the non-stick surface (non-toxic) is coming off. Might get a replacement but my mate gave me his machine as he never used it. :-)

How to Make Hamburger Buns

October 21st, 2011

Hi! This is a little instructional video that I made as a school project. =============== In about 7 minutes, I’ll show you how to make delicious rolls that your whole family will enjoy! One batch makes around two dozen buns, but it’s easily halved to make less. I also used a KitchenAid electric mixer for blending the ingredients and mixing the dough up, but you can do this all in a large bowl with a wooden spoon, or even by hand. I use these rolls as hamburger buns, but they’re great as dinner rolls, sweet buns, sandwich bread, etc. You can add any kind of herb or spice you want for extra flavor – experiment until you find a taste you like! EDIT: Wow, the response to this video has been so much more than I could have imagined! Thank you all so much! I’ve had a couple of requests for the actual recipe, so I’m making a blog and I’ll have that uploaded in the next couple days. If you’re going to use these buns for burgers, you HAVE to use homemade patties. If you use a McDonalds or Burger King patty (who even does that) I will find you. :)
